      Gr 2-4-Emmy and Birch are two Minecraft characters continuing their adventures after returning from the Nether in the previous installment of the series. After a brief recount of what transpired in their last adventure, along with a look at what they collected from their quest, the two begin making a crafting table. They don't get far before a creeper, witches, skeletons, and zombies approach them. Emmy quickly brews two Night Vision potions to better fight the enemies, and Birch makes an Invisibility Potion. The book is filled with Minecraft characters, materials, potions, and more, with illustrations that are adorably reminiscent of the popular game franchise. The text is meant for beginning readers; however, much of the vocabulary is Minecraft terminology. For children who do not play the game, the words may be more difficult to decode, and the story harder to follow. VERDICT Purchase where Minecraft is popular.-Kirsten Caldwell
