Best-selling author Cotton Smith writes action-packed Westerns with a flair few others can match. In The Thirteenth Bullet, young Irishman Time Carlow has just been inducted into the legendary ranks of the Texas Rangers. With the help of his uncle Kileen, Time runs down a bloodthirsty gang and brings them to justice. But back in town, the deceitful mayor and sheriff are out to settle a score of their own.

L.J. Ganser rises to the challenges of providing Irish, Spanish, and Western accents for Time Carlow, a young Irishman who, along with his uncle, "Old Thunder" Kileen, and his blood brother, Shannon Dornan, are Texas Rangers defending the town of Bennet. Ganser's flat, slightly nasal but easily understandable voice adequately portrays the various members of the vicious and notorious Silver Mallow gang. His tense, breathless narration demonstrates his involvement in the deadly fight, as well as Carlow's thirst for revenge when Shannon is killed. Ganser's voice and accent for Kileen's Spanish girlfriend are also distinctive. Listeners will cheer as good triumphs over evil, and the story builds to a dramatic conclusion. S.C.A.
