In this humorous and honest poetry collection, ‘Princess of Hip Hop’ Ashanti shares her unique perspective on life and love.

Bestselling recording artist Ashanti stormed the pop charts with her self-titled debut album, going all the way to #1 and staying there for 10 weeks, garnering legions of loyal fans, and earning herself the nickname the 'Princess of Hip Hop.' In Foolish/Unfoolish, Ashanti explores the same themes that make her music so real for her fans—stories of falling head-over-heels in love, becoming broken-hearted or insanely jealous, getting over it, and loving life. Spirited, moving, and filled with Ashanti's unique sense of humor, this collection of poetry and reflections will entertain and surprise as it offers an intimate look into the life of a legend.

Adult/High School-This book contains many of the highly successful singer's poems, written when she was a teen, complete with the stories behind them and her thoughts on relationships and friendships. Small black-and-white photos of Ashanti as a child are sprinkled throughout. The selections aren't very distinctive, but teen fans will still enjoy this title.-Jamie Watson, Enoch Pratt Free Library, Baltimore
