Nick Gautier's day just keeps getting better and better. Yeah, he survived the zombie attacks, only to wake up and find himself enslaved to a world of shapeshifters and demons out to claim his soul.
His new principal thinks he's even more of a hoodlum than the last one, his coach is trying to recruit him to things he can't even mention and the girl he's not seeing, but is, has secrets that terrify him.
But more than that, he's being groomed by the darkest of powers and if he doesn't learn how to raise the dead by the end of the week, he will become one of them...

Gr 7-10-Sherrilyn Kenyon's sequel (2011) to Infinity (2010, both St. Martin's Griffin) begins the morning after the first book ends. Listeners new to the series will not get a full review of what happened previously and vague references to those actions may leave them confused. However, the fast-paced action of this story, with the inclusion of new characters such as Death (referred to as Grim), an evil new coach out to get the entire football team as well as Nick, and other forces of evil will keep them engaged. Nick learns more about his destiny, including that he is an agent for tremendous good or tremendous evil and that if he goes "the wrong way" he's capable of destroying the world. Nick is sarcastic, and sometimes Holter Graham's narration makes it difficult for listeners to realize that Nick is the good guy. Graham switches accents, tone, and pitch to bring to life Nick's mother, a new love interest, and the many new demons that invade his life. This installment tells listeners more about the background characters. Purchase only where the first title is popular.-Edith Ching, University of Maryland, College Park
