      The sixth book in the multi-author "Coltons of Colorado" series (after Undercover Colton by Addison Fox) features U.S. Army sergeant Ezra Colton. He's back in town for his brother's wedding and isn't thinking about much more than when he can leave his hometown again for the next assignment. However, an accidental encounter with young widow Theresa Fitzgerald and her twin girls has him rethinking his future, though. When the girls are kidnapped by their doomsday prepper grandparents, he'll do anything to reunite them with their frantic mother--even if it costs him everything. VERDICT Though the race to save Theresa's children has both drama and suspense, the romance between the two main characters is much less satisfying. Both constantly make assumptions about the other, and the relationship discussions that would be necessary for them to realistically move forward together are left until the final pages of the book, if they even happen at all.--Rebecca Moe
