Adair’s third Sugar, Georgia contemporary (after Sugar on Top) is a darling romance delivered in her charming downhome style. Pediatrician Charlotte Holden is on the verge of seeing her dream come to fruition, with the Grow Clinic nearing completion. She has spent years building the life she wants in her little hometown. Jace McGraw, the last eligible bachelor of his family, has spent his life running from youthful mistakes, and his return to Sugar draws attention he doesn’t want. Jace isn’t as single as everyone believes, and to Charlotte’s surprise, neither is she. His secret could ruin Charlotte’s position in town and her hopes for her future. The wild town of Sugar is just as enchanting and wacky as in previous volumes, making the characters’ meddling and manipulations fun and frustrating at the same time. Adair skillfully blends spicy romance with humor and tenderness. The resolution is both satisfying and charming, with the characters earning their happiness together.
