This is the 10th book in the multi-author "Coltons of Grave Gulch" suspense miniseries (after Jennifer D. Bokal's A Colton Internal Affair). While shopping in a nearby town, kindergarten teacher Madison Colton finds more than she was looking for when she runs into her father, who supposedly died years ago. She learns that he's under protective custody, and their reunion soon puts the entire Colton family in danger. Marshal Oren Margulies steps in to protect Madison but he soon finds it hard to fight his growing attraction to her. Can their love survive the danger? VERDICT A lackluster, unrealistic plot and awkward dialogue make this installment one to skip. Readers who insist on reading every book of a series may be able to soldier through.
