This enemies-to-lovers sports romance tells the story of Gianna Lockett and Wynn Starks as they navigate business and pleasure over the holiday season. The Locketts feel like a real family; the relationships between the siblings are particularly well drawn. Gianna's struggle to define herself within her family and the fight she had against expectations make her a very compelling character and one worth rooting for. Wynn's reluctance to get involved with Gianna, inspired by his past experiences, is no less intriguing and ensures that readers will be invested in their happily ever after. VERDICT Readers curious about the work of running a football team will find details to interest them, but those looking for a more traditional sports romance will not find it here.
