PreS-Gr 1-In Gotham City, superhero vehicles that fight crime and protect people are called the Batwheels. Young, emerging readers will love devouring each page with a new shiny vehicle fighting crime. One by one, each Batwheel is introduced: Bam, Bipi, Batwing, Redbird, and Buff. Readers will vroom into engagement with the heroes who drive these cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The font is large, easy to read, and used sparingly throughout. Multiple pages without print are woven in between the pages that do feature print, allowing for young readers to also experience reading and conversation with others without the burden of decoding text. VERDICT Young readers who love superheroes are sure to enjoy this beginning reader.-Kelly Richards
