A Soldier's Secret by New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne
To find out who was claiming ownership of the only place he'd ever called home, Harry Maxwell knew he'd have to do some investigating. So the wounded lieutenant changed his name a little. Altered a few facts. All for a good cause—get in, get the truth, get out.

Recovering from wounds he received during a military operation, Blackhawk pilot Harry "Max" Maxwell returns to Brambleberry House, the only place he ever felt at home; however, he isn't quite who he says he is. Meanwhile, Anna Galvez has moved into Brambleberry House, having inherited it from a dear friend. When the handsome lieutenant rents one of the home's apartments, Anna doesn't expect her heart's reaction to him. She also doesn't expect his secret and what it could mean for her beloved home. Stacy Gonzalez performs the newly available audiobook of the third installment in "The Women of Brambleberry House" series, originally published in 2014. Music befitting the contemporary romance's tone welcomes the listener to Anna and Max's story. Gonzalez's pacing and pleasant voice are a boon to her performance, making one feel as if the tale takes place over weeks rather than days; however, heightened emotions are further emphasized by her exuberant narration, which may distract some listeners. Some unusually accentuated words and phrases pepper the narration, further pulling listeners out of the story. VERDICT A charming story, but this occasionally rocky audio is an optional purchase. Add to collections where the series' previous audiobooks are in demand.--Amanda L. S. Murphy
