He's lost his wings

Eli will be condemned to Hell if he doesn't regain his compassion for humanity. After being dropped into the frigid outback of Alaska, wingless and half naked, a woman's scream shatters the unforgiving landscape. While this could be the chance he needs to redeem himself, he's not sure he cares enough to take it.

She sees death

Life has never been normal for Ashley. Foreseeing how people will die sends her into a mental breakdown. The only way to save herself is to run to her family's remote cabin and away from everyone she loves. What she doesn't count on is the stranger whose death she cannot see.

Eli is drawn to the darkness that has claimed many of his brethren, but Ashley is certain she can save his soul. When they give in to their desire, secrets unfold that will change their lives forever.

Twombly's slim fantasy romance, the disappointing first in a new series, posits a topsy-turvy world where male angels procreate with human women to breed new generations of angels. Archangel Eli, a bounty hunter, tracks fallen angels who have begun to take innocent lives. He’s hurled to earth by the Seven, female angels who rule in the absence of their maker, to learn compassion or be sentenced to hell. While in the Alaskan wilderness, Eli meets Ashley, who’s cursed with the ability to see people’s death if she looks into their eyes, and rescues her from a Hellhound attack. Even though Eli has sworn off women and has no need for a mate, blizzard-melting passion ensues. The pair pause in their lovemaking long enough to battle sinister fallen angels, assorted demons, and even Lucifer himself. Pedestrian plotting and simplistic characterizations make the proceedings of these angels and their paramours difficult to get through.
