      Heroes and villains convene in the Flower Kingdom, where the lack of royalty to fulfill a legend complicates the quest to defeat the Nightmare Knight. More backstory emerges, lending pathos to the lighthearted graphic-novel series. The vibrantly colored digital illustrations shine, particularly in minion Rosemaster's Art Nouveauinspired scenes. Abrupt shifts in location nevertheless create a sense of simultaneity for the myriad story lines in the series.
