While there already exist lots of books about talking to heaven and learning to be a psychic (see for example the works of Kristy Robinett, Patrick Mathews, and James Van Praagh), psychic medium Fraser's (When Heaven Calls) latest book focuses specifically on how to choose a medium, what to expect when having a psychic reading done (including what might get in the way of a good one), and what to expect when you die and go to heaven. Most of Fraser's descriptions of the afterlife aligns with others (e.g., heaven reflects the individual's idea), which others of his takes are fairly unique, especially his concepts of reincarnation and how soulmates work. The final chapter answers essential questions that someone who is just starting to research for personal knowledge will need; the section explaining the different types of psychic gifts and how each is used is a particularly great resource. VERDICT Good addition to collections needing a good introduction to the topic or needing more parapsychology books to meet demand.--Ann West LaPrise
